SavingSpecies, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
SavingSpecies strives to be completely transparent about what it does with donations. To that end, we offer two donation options.
We pay the cost of the payment. As you know, when payments are processed by PayPal, they take a percentage of your donation. Instead of passing on that cost to you, Stuart Pimm, founder of SavingSpecies, will personally contribute the percentage cost. That is, if you give $100, rather than your donation being $100 minus PayPal’s fee (2.2% + $.30 per transaction) Dr. Pimm will pay the $2.50 fee so that your donation is exactly equal to what you choose to donate. When you donate to SavingSpecies, every penny of your donation dollar is making a difference.

This money goes directly to fund land purchase on behalf of local in-country donations. We do not own the land, but collect funds on behalf of the in-country organizations that buy the land from local land-owners.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, which allows you to claim the donation against income taxes in the US. Once you donate, you can print out the transaction page as a receipt. If you’d like a receipt directly from us, you’ll need to provide your contact information so that we can send it to you.
If you donate to this account, every dollar of your donation goes directly to purchase land for our in-country projects to save species. We do not take any overhead from your donation made to this account.
Our Scientific Board includes the world’s top conservation scientists. They review each project for conservation value, scientific merit and prospects for success.
Again, all projects are run by those who are from, and live in, the country of the project. Please contact us if you have any questions about how your donation is handled.
You can help so much with your donations to support SavingSpecies operations. While the supporting operations is less glamorous than helping us buy land it is just as important. We want you to know where your donation dollar is going, but we do need funds to support basic office expenses and to pay for our efforts to connect with folks like you. If you choose to donate to our operations, you will help us run our website, Facebook page and continue with outreach to spread the word about our projects.

We then engage local communities to restore and protect the land. The trees we plant soak up carbon from the atmosphere.
