How to Donate

As a matter of philosophy, we do not take donations directly. All the money we raise goes to protect and restore land, not to pay for staff and expensive offices.

As you will see from the project in Brazil, we helped a Brazilian group to buy Brazilian land and turn it over to the equivalent of Brazil's national park service. The same will be true for the project in Madagascar. In both cases, the projects also have collaborators from outside the countries, as one should expect for successful conservation efforts anywhere in the world

You can donate directly in one of two ways. Either way, the money goes to a registered 501c(3) non-profit, which allows you to claim the donation against income taxes in the US.

Lemur First, you can donate directly to the featured project. Again, as a matter of philosophy, the projects are run by those who are from, and live in, the country of the project. At present, giving directly means giving means going to http://icte.bio.sunysb.edu/pages/simus_project.html

Second you can make donations through the Environmental Media Association, a very well-established and prominent non-profit organization, based in Los Angeles. We are very lucky to have the Environmental Media Association to help us handle funds — for they save us that expense (and help us in many other ways too.

Important! Either way, please let SavingSpecies know that you have donated so that we can properly thank you.
